- Dinner With Monsters shares its title with a working title for the Christopher Eccleston episode Boom Town.

 

- The film that Steph, Jake and Liv are watching at the beginning of the episode is The Birthday Party, an extract from the Harold Pinter play of the same name which was filmed by executive producer Rhys Jones in 1998. Both he and executive producer Terrance Edwards appear.

 

- Part of the dinner party was filmed on Saturday 9th July, with the rest being filmed on Sunday 18th September.

 

- In the original draft of the script, Steph's stepfather was called Frank. This was changed to Mal after we already had a character called Frank in Behind The Table
