Watchers Productions presents: Twinkle by Philip Meeks
After a successful run at Llanover Hall last Christmas, Watchers Productions are delighted to announce three further performances of Philip Meeks’ one-man show Twinkle.

November 2002. In a dilapidated theatre dressing room in a town that's seen better days, veteran pantomime dame Harold Thropp prepares to unleash the Widow for a very special event, which promises to be electrifying… As he gets ready, the story of Harold’s life and career- with all its highs and lows- comes out as he contemplates his future.
This darkly comic, often poignant, monologue touches on the art of performance, queer history, the impact of reality TV, and what it means to be “famous”.
Terrance Marshman-Edwards will be reprising his role as the troubled and waspish Harold. “Even before last year’s run finished, I was being asked if I would do the show again,” he said. “To which my answer was ‘never say never’. Now, thanks to the wonderful people at Porter’s Theatre and the Cardiff Players Theatre (who’ve invited me to perform at the Cardiff Theatre Café at St. Andrew’s), I’m very pleased- and not a little nervous- to be getting back into the frock and telling Harold’s tale again. If you missed
your opportunity last time, don’t miss out this time!”
So why come and see Twinkle? Here’s a selection of some of the audience feedback received from last year’s run:
“It's Inside No. 9, the more moving episodes of Black Mirror... with a healthy dose of wicked black comedy.”
"Fab piece of theatre!"
"A brilliant show... Honestly folks, don't miss this!"
"A delightful and moving performance"
"Twinkle was one of the best things I've ever seen on stage."
“We were gripped throughout- amazing!”
“A beautifully acted piece of theatre that was funny, yet dark in some places, evoking laughter and tears all within 80 minutes”
But don’t just take their word for it. Come and see for yourselves. You'll be enthralled from start to finish. You'll almost certainly laugh. You might even cry. But you wont forget it. If you like your festive entertainment somewhat darker, Twinkle is a great alternative Christmas night out.
